CALA 10k AGCC CUP
After a very successful first year which saw seven teams battle it out for top honours, the ‘Cala 10k AGCC Cup’ will again be awarded to the fastest team of four from any Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce member organisation taking part in the Cala 10k.
The winning team will have their name engraved on the new ‘Chamber Cup’ and have a charitable donation of £100 made on their behalf.
To enter, runners should state their both their team and company names in the spaces provided during online registration. Runners who have already entered, but who would like to join a team, can amend their details using the link they received at registration, or email RGHQ for help.
Teams can be mixed or single-sex and the times of all four runners will count in the calculation of the winner. There is no limit to the number of teams of four any AGCC member organisation can be represented by, but each team must have a different name (ie, Cala Homes A, Cala Homes B, etc).
AB51 BUSINESS CHALLENGE
All runners from AB51-based businesses with three or more runners taking part in the Cala 10k will automatically be entered into the 'Cala 10k AB51 Business Challenge’. The winners' shield will be awarded to the local business with the fastest cumulative time as calculated based on the finish times of their three fastest runners (male or female). The business name and qualifying postcode must be provided at registration, but there is no need to 'enter as a team’, or for all runners to enter at the same time.
Kilometre Markers & Water Stops
There will be ascending kilometre markers on the course and two water stations.
Headphones and Personal Music
The safety of all our runners, volunteers and spectators is Run Garioch’s top priority, and being able to hear marshalling instructions, emergency vehicles and traffic noise is a huge part of staying safe on the course. As such, we follow UK Athletics policy prohibiting the use of ‘in-ear’ headphones in events without fully closed roads; in addition, we also prohibit the use of ‘over-ear’ headphones (‘cans’) that similarly prohibit runners from hearing the sounds around them. In accordance with UK Athletics policy, we do permit the use of headphones using bone-conduction technology (‘AfterShokz’, ‘Shokz’ and similar products) that allow runners to listen to their personal music while still being aware of their surroundings.
